Subi Blooms x Gather 2025
When creativity meets community, something truly special blooms. We were honoured to be part of Subi Blooms x Gather, a celebration of florals, foliage and artistry - re imagining Subiaco’s streets into living, breathing installations.
My installation, located in Hiddlestone Lane, was called ‘Of Earth & Origin’ and it captured everything I hoped to express: a gentle nod to my roots, my love of living design, and the beauty of plants in their most natural form.

Where roots run deep
The theme of this years Subi Blooms was ‘Roots to bloom’, when I first heard it I knew I wanted to explore it in more than one way. Of course, there's the literal interpretation - every plant we used was rooted, alive and growing. But beyond that, I wanted to reflect on my own roots. My parents English background and our Australian home came together in this installation.
It was an ode to cottage gardens, native bushland, and the slow, grounding of gardening - wherever you may be. It also reflected the origin of our business - once flower focused, now rooted entirely in plants.
At the centre of the installation stood our potting table - a tribute to the timeless charm of English garden sheds, inspired by Monty Don (garden icon).
But instead of traditional florals, we filled the table with native Australian plants and herbs - think woolly bush, kangaroo paw, grevillea, desert flame, rosemary, basil and parsley.
We even added a little hidden touch: a humble bucket of weeds. Because every garden has one, right?
The Umbrella
I knew the umbrella would be beautiful but I didn't quite realise how much of an impact it would have. Every time someone stopped to look at my installation the first thing I heard was ‘Oh! The Umbrella!’ - it was definitely the highlight of my installation.
The Umbrella was included to add on to the story of a rainy English garden (did you notice our flower rain floating above?) but beyond that, I wanted to use traditional mother’s day flowers and make them into something extraordinary.
Living design over fleeting beauty
I wanted to show that beauty doesn’t need to be fleeting. Living plants offer movement, texture, story and they continue to grow long after the installation ends.
This is at the heart of what we do at The Botanic Edit. Sustainability is more than a buzzword for us - it’s a practice, a promise, and a way to bring beauty into the world without waste.
Moments that made our hearts bloom
Watching people pause, point things out to their children, take photos, and constantly hearing ‘oh the umbrella!’ was incredible. The installation sparked conversation, curiosity, and connection, which is all I ever hope for.
Until next season…
Thank you to the team at Subi Blooms and Gather for curating such a special experience. And thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared a moment with Of Earth & Origin.
If this installation spoke to you and you’re dreaming of something equally heartfelt, earthy and unforgettable for your wedding, event or space - we’d love to create something just for you.
